Job Description: Launch Operations Support Engineer

Location-Remote

Role Overview

We are looking for a Launch Operations Support Engineer to support the planning, execution, monitoring, and troubleshooting of product/software launches. The role involves coordinating with engineering, product, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end launch activities, including planning, readiness checks, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Product, QA, Operations, and other teams during launches.
  • Monitor production systems and launch activities to identify issues or potential risks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical or operational issues during and after launches.
  • Track launch milestones, dependencies, risks, and action items.
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, validation, and rollback activities.
  • Maintain launch documentation, runbooks, checklists, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident management and escalation when required.
  • Analyze logs, alerts, and system metrics to identify root causes.
  • Support post-launch validation and prepare launch/incident reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve launch processes, automation, and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of software deployment and release processes.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and basic networking concepts.
  • Basic scripting knowledge such as Python, Shell, or similar.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Git, or monitoring platforms is a plus.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure during critical launches or incidents.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL and basic database troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
