We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to guide multiple Agile teams supporting the Unified Desktop organization, including the Service Center (IVR) and MS Dynamics teams. This role is responsible for driving Agile excellence, facilitating cross-team alignment, leading release train ceremonies, and ensuring consistent delivery against program milestones. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with deep hands-on expertise in Jira, Lucidchart, Agile/SAFe, and SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Release Train Engineer for multiple Agile teams within Unified Desktop, ensuring smooth delivery across Service Center (IVR) and MS Dynamics workstreams.
- Facilitate Agile team-of-teams ceremonies including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Sync, Inspect & Adapt, and release milestone planning.
- Partner with Product Managers and Solutions Managers to ensure the backlog remains healthy, prioritized, and aligned to program objectives.
- Drive clarity and transparency using Jira dashboards, burn-downs, velocity charts, Lucid diagrams, and visual status reporting.
- Coach Agile teams and ART leadership to continuously improve delivery, collaboration, and Agile maturity.
- Identify and remove impediments; escalate proactively when leadership action is needed.
- Translate technical dialogue into clear business updates for leadership and stakeholders.
- Support communication materials for program leadership including roadmaps, updates, status decks, and risk summaries.
- Ensure teams are delivering against Deals/Program milestones and maintaining high execution discipline.
- Uphold Agile best practices across all teams and drive consistency in ceremonies, planning, estimations, and SDLC alignment.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience leading Agile software engineering teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Jira and Lucidchart (non-negotiable).
- Strong, practical understanding of SDLC, with the ability to understand technical discussions and convert them into business-level insights.
- Proven experience facilitating PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and other ART ceremonies.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify impediments, drive solutions, and influence leadership.
- Experience creating metrics-driven dashboards and visual reporting tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in environments involving Unified Desktop, IVR systems, or MS Dynamics.
- SAFe or Agile certification(s).
- Experience delivering in large, matrixed, multi-squad engineering organizations.
- Strong coaching experience supporting Scrum teams, Product Owners, and technical stakeholders.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Mill, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $87.00/hr.
