Summary

OneMain Financial is looking for a senior leader who will be responsible in leading software engineering teams driving our Regulatory & Compliance product functions for the organization. The leader will be responsible to collaborate with business, operations, product, and technology partners to deliver the engineering, systems integration and process improvement needs for all aspects of the Regulatory & Compliance support systems, inclusive of the day-to-day running of the engineering teams. In addition to this, the leader will be responsible for contributing to our development of a product-based delivery practice. Our ideal candidate can lead multiple parallel initiatives - big and small - with attention to detail, manage business partner expectations and is passionate about cloud native solutions and legacy platform modernization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good Product Engineering Lead from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.
  • Work directly with senior leaders in our Product Design and Technical organizations to design applications that provide accurate and efficient solutions to our Team Members
  • Lead technical teams in delivering highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets/timelines while ensuring alignment to strategic technology vision.
  • Manage and coordinate the value driven in building solutions utilizing an iterative SDLC. Act as a player/coach.
  • Work with your quality engineering staff to ensure that the software you deliver is of the highest quality.
  • Develop and document roadmaps, staffing plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Identify gaps/risks early and establish mitigation plans (both technically & with regards to resources).
  • Increase the overall visibility of this team; celebrate/track accomplishments and build relationships with key leaders in other groups.
  • Continually strive for improvements in process, talent acquisition/retention, application time-to-market and quality

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, computer science preferred
  • An advanced degree in a related field, computer science or engineering is preferred
  • Experience implementing digital transformation solutions for financial services industry
  • 8+ years of application development management/leadership experience
  • Combined 20+ years of hands-on Software Development experience
  • Proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, iterative software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify stakeholders, assess their needs and manage their expectations through effective communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various level of technical and non-technical management.
  • A passion for technology with a proven ability to deliver with quality

  • Strong customer focus - able to meet the demands of our users and customers

Target base salary range is $170K-$190K, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
