Software Asset Management Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow SAM / SBOM Developer to design, develop, integrate, and support Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) solutions. The candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, normalizing, enriching, and correlating software component data across enterprise systems to support software asset management, license compliance, security, and risk identification.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, test, and maintain SBOM solutions for collecting, validating, processing, normalizing, enriching, and reporting software component data.

• Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications, user stories, development tasks, and scalable solutions.

• Build and maintain integrations between GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Technopedia/DejaCode, and other enterprise platforms.

• Identify and normalize commercial, open-source, and embedded software components, correlating them with application records, software inventory, licenses, and entitlements.

• Work with SBOM standards and formats, including CycloneDX and SPDX, along with CVE, CPE, and PURL identification standards.

• Develop and support ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions, including software discovery, normalization, licensing, entitlements, reconciliation, compliance, optimization, lifecycle management, and software approval processes.

• Configure and maintain ServiceNow request management capabilities, including Service Catalog, catalog items, RITMs, approvals, workflows, fulfillment tasks, notifications, and automated routing.

• Develop and maintain REST APIs, integrations, scripts, workflows, scheduled jobs, dashboards, reports, and automation supporting SAM and SBOM processes.

• Monitor data quality, troubleshoot integration issues, resolve processing errors, and implement appropriate exception-handling mechanisms.

• Collaborate with ITAM Solutions and ServiceNow Platform teams to ensure solutions follow platform standards and configuration best practices.

• Participate in Agile development activities using Jira, including story development, defect tracking, unit testing, functional testing, UAT, and release management.

• Maintain technical documentation and support deployments, production validation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing production troubleshooting.

• Support scheduled after-hours and weekend deployments, upgrades, releases, and production implementations as required.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development/configuration, Software Asset Management (SAM), application development, systems integration, or related implementation projects.

• Hands-on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow SAM solutions and working with SBOM concepts and software component management.

• Strong understanding of ITAM/SAM processes, including software discovery, normalization, software models, licensing, entitlements, reconciliation, compliance, authorization, and lifecycle management.

• Experience with ServiceNow Request Management, Service Catalog, RITMs, approvals, workflows, and fulfillment processes.

• Strong experience with REST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, scripting, and automation.

• Experience integrating enterprise applications and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, testing processes, and change management.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced experience with ServiceNow SAM and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

• Hands-on experience with Flexera software inventory, discovery, normalization, licensing, and integrations.

• Experience integrating GitLab and JFrog Artifactory with ServiceNow and other enterprise platforms.

• Knowledge of SBOM reporting, software component correlation, license compliance, and software risk identification.
