Mainframe Migration Architect/Lead

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Migration Architect/Lead to support a large-scale modernization initiative involving the migration of IBM Mainframe applications, data, and supporting toolsets to AWS. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience planning and executing mainframe migration programs, including environments utilizing Broadcom (CA) and BMC technologies.

• Lead assessment, planning, and execution of IBM Mainframe migration and modernization initiatives.
• Analyze existing z/OS applications, databases, interfaces, and batch workloads.
• Design migration strategies for COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and related mainframe components.
• Support migration of Broadcom (CA) and BMC-based operational tools and processes.
• Collaborate with cloud architects and application teams to design AWS-based target architectures.
• Develop migration roadmaps, risk assessments, and implementation plans.
• Coordinate data migration, testing, validation, and production cutover activities.
• Identify opportunities for rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, or application modernization.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the migration lifecycle.

• 10+ years of IBM Mainframe experience.
• Strong expertise with z/OS environments.
• Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Proven experience leading Mainframe-to-AWS migration or modernization projects.
• Experience with Broadcom (CA) technologies such as Endevor, CA 7, IDMS, Datacom, or related products.
• Experience with BMC tools such as Control-M, File-AID, Abend-AID, MainView, or similar.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services and migration methodologies.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, scheduling, and mainframe operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience with AWS Mainframe Modernization (AWS M2).
• Experience with application modernization and cloud-native architectures.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices.
• AWS Certification(s) preferred.
• Prior experience in large enterprise migration programs.
