AI Red Team Validator Engineer - GenAI (10-Month W2 Contract, 100% Remote)Title: AI Red Team Validator Engineer (GenAI Validator)
Employment Type: 10-Month W2 Contract (40 hours/week) -
No C2C / No Sub-VendorsLocation: 100% Remote (US-based)
We're supporting an enterprise
Offensive Security Research Team that operates an AI Security "shop" responsible for validating the security of Generative AI (GenAI) use cases across the organization. Every AI solution must pass through security and risk checks before going into production-and this role is a critical part of that validation process.
As an
AI Red Team Validator Engineer, you'll
re-run and validate red team tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to ensure previously identified GenAI-related vulnerabilities are fully remediated and no longer exploitable. You'll recreate offensive scenarios, confirm security control effectiveness, and help safeguard AI pipelines and models at scale.
Key Responsibilities and Top SkillsRed Team Validation & Re-Testing- Rebuild prior red team testing conditions and re-run TTPs to validate that vulnerabilities have been effectively remediated.
- Analyze offensive techniques used in earlier tests and confirm they can no longer be successfully executed.
- Verify that security controls and mitigations are in place and functioning as intended.
Attack Simulation & Vulnerability Verification- Conduct attack simulations and vulnerability verification across AI-enabled applications and pipelines.
- Perform security control testing to ensure issues are fixed at the root cause, not just patched on the surface.
- Understand and articulate the root cause behind vulnerabilities and why a fix is or is not effective.
GenAI / LLM Security- Work with Generative AI systems, LLMs, and AI pipelines, validating findings related to:
- Model behavior and misuse
- Model vulnerabilities and adversarial ML techniques
- Misconfigurations and insecure integrations in AI-driven workflows
- Recreate, analyze, and validate offensive testing conditions targeting AI model interactions and data flows.
Platform & Tooling- Operate in Linux-based environments while using common offensive and validation tools, including:
- BurpSuite
- VMware Workstation
- Other security and testing utilities as needed
- Work within cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform and/or Azure), with awareness of cloud security considerations for GenAI workloads.
Scripting, Automation & Engineering- Use Python to:
- Script test harnesses to recreate attack paths
- Automate validation steps
- Analyze outputs and flag regressions
- (Nice to have) Utilize scripting knowledge in Ruby, PowerShell, or Shell for additional automation and validation efforts.
Communication & Reporting- Document validation steps, outcomes, and remaining gaps in a clear, structured, and timely manner.
- Present findings to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, explaining:
- What was tested
- How it was tested
- Why the remediation is (or isn't) effective
- What further action is required, if any
Required Skills & QualificationsCore Validation & Offensive Experience- Experience re-running and validating red team TTPs to confirm remediation effectiveness.
- Background in attack simulations, vulnerability verification, and security control testing.
- Strong ability to understand how and why attacks work, and how to faithfully reconstruct them.
GenAI / LLM Knowledge- Solid understanding of Generative AI systems, LLM behavior, and model vulnerabilities.
- Familiar with adversarial ML techniques and AI-specific attack patterns.
- Ability to recreate offensive AI testing conditions and validate fixes in AI pipelines and integrations.
Technical Skills- Strong experience with:
- Linux operations
- Common security tooling (BurpSuite, VMware Workstation, etc.)
- Hands-on experience working in Google Cloud Platform or Azure environments.
- Understanding of cloud security considerations related to GenAI and AI workloads.
Scripting & Automation- Python scripting experience (required) for:
- Automating validation workflows
- Reproducing attacks
- Analyzing results and generating reports
- Bonus experience with Ruby, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
Soft Skills- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Comfortable presenting findings to technical engineering teams as well as business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow and replicate complex testing procedures.
Employee Value Proposition- Work at the forefront of AI security, helping validate and secure real-world GenAI use cases in a complex enterprise environment.
- Gain exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies, adversarial techniques, and modern AI security practices.
- Play a critical role in a multi-disciplinary AI Security program that touches Cybersecurity, Risk, Privacy, Compliance, and Legal.
- Be part of the team that ensures AI solutions are safe, compliant, and ready for production before they go live.
Business ImpactThe AI Security function is responsible for ensuring that
every GenAI use case passes through robust security assessment before deployment. With rapid AI adoption and a high volume of AI initiatives in the pipeline, validating that
remediations are effective and durable is essential.
This role acts as the
validation arm of the Offensive Security Research Team-confirming that GenAI-related vulnerabilities are fully fixed, cannot be re-exploited, and meet the organization's security standards before systems progress in their lifecycle.
