Role Overview
We are seeking a Production Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our applications. This role involves managing batch processes, responding to system alerts, and providing expert-level support to resolve application and user issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple batch processes to completion, investigating and resolving any issues that arise during batch and feed management.
- Provide timely response, analysis, and resolution of issues identified through alert management and monitoring.
- Create and update support documentation to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Manage incidents by creating clear documentation, maintaining open communication during resolution, and following proper escalation channels.
- Provide subject matter expertise to troubleshoot and resolve application issues and user inquiries, including root cause analysis and recommending preventative actions.
- Utilize tools such as ITSM/ServiceNow, ITRS/Dynatrace, and Splunk for making updates and producing reports.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years in an application support position with hands-on experience supporting client applications.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Autosys, UNIX, and Shell scripting. Good knowledge of SQL, Oracle or a similar DBMS, and Hadoop. Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a multi-regional team environment.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Working knowledge of ITIL foundations.
- Project and time management skills.
- Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence.
- Prior experience in the financial industry.
