Description: QA Lead - Enterprise Quality Engineering Overview We are seeking an experienced
QA Lead to drive quality strategy, test governance, and release readiness across enterprise applications and integrations. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical expertise in test automation, API validation, database testing, and quality engineering practices.
The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end testing efforts, ensure comprehensive requirements coverage, guide defect management processes, and provide clear, data-driven quality reporting to stakeholders. This position requires both strategic thinking and the ability to actively contribute to automation and testing initiatives.
Responsibilities Quality Leadership & Test Governance - Lead quality assurance activities for enterprise applications, integrations, and release initiatives.
- Define and maintain test strategies, scope, schedules, estimates, risks, dependencies, and entry/exit criteria.
- Coordinate testing efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor QA team members and promote testing best practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate defect triage meetings and support release readiness decisions.
Requirements Analysis & Test Coverage - Review business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, workflows, interface designs, and acceptance criteria.
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, inconsistencies, and testability concerns early in the development lifecycle.
- Develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, test data, and validation strategies.
- Ensure complete traceability between requirements, test execution, and defect resolution activities.
Test Planning & Execution - Design and execute functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, user acceptance, database, and API testing.
- Develop positive, negative, boundary, risk-based, and data-driven test cases.
- Validate application behavior across multiple environments and configurations.
- Ensure test evidence is accurate, reproducible, and audit-ready.
Test Automation & Quality Engineering - Design, develop, review, and maintain automated test solutions using modern automation frameworks.
- Support UI, API, and end-to-end automation initiatives.
- Implement reusable automation components and scalable framework designs.
- Review automation code for quality, maintainability, reliability, and adherence to standards.
- Support integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.
API, Data & Database Validation - Validate RESTful services, API contracts, authentication, error handling, and business workflows.
- Perform database validation using SQL, including data integrity, reconciliation, and backend verification.
- Support testing of data integrations, migrations, and transformation processes.
- Analyze defects and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication - Provide regular quality metrics, testing progress, risk assessments, and release readiness updates.
- Develop dashboards and reports illustrating test coverage, execution status, defects, and quality trends.
- Communicate technical quality concerns to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present objective, evidence-based recommendations regarding release readiness.
Environment & Release Support - Coordinate test environment planning, readiness, and utilization.
- Validate build deployments, configurations, test data, and external dependencies.
- Support smoke testing, production readiness validation, and post-deployment verification activities.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and product teams to resolve delivery blockers.
Required Qualifications - 7+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- 2+ years of experience leading QA teams, projects, or enterprise testing initiatives.
- Strong experience with test planning, test execution, and quality governance.
- Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
- Experience designing and managing requirements traceability and test coverage models.
- Strong API testing experience, including RESTful services.
- Proficiency with SQL and database validation techniques.
- Experience with defect management, root cause analysis, and release readiness processes.
- Familiarity with source control systems and modern software delivery practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
- Experience building or enhancing test automation frameworks.
- Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
- Experience validating data integrations, data pipelines, or ETL processes.
- Exposure to performance, scalability, and security testing practices.
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise or regulated environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
