Description
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to strengthen software quality initiatives for an organization in Columbus, Ohio. This role focuses on creating and advancing automated testing approaches that improve application stability, performance, and dependability across enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote quality throughout development and deliver clear insight into testing outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Build, refine, and support automated testing frameworks covering user interface, API, and backend validation.
Shape the overall automation approach by defining practical standards, processes, and quality-focused engineering practices.
Transform manually executed test scenarios into reliable automated scripts that improve efficiency and repeatability.
Embed automated test execution within continuous integration and delivery workflows to support rapid, dependable releases.
Run and maintain functional, regression, and smoke test suites to confirm application readiness and stability.
Investigate defects and failed test results to identify underlying causes and help drive effective resolution.
Communicate test progress, quality indicators, and outcome summaries to project stakeholders and delivery teams.
Partner with product, business, development, and QA colleagues to confirm requirements are testable and quality expectations are achieved.
Guide and support team members in the use of automation tools, frameworks, and sound testing practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of quality assurance experience with significant hands-on involvement in test automation.
Demonstrated ability to create automated testing frameworks within Agile software delivery environments.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into release processes.
Strong understanding of API and microservices testing approaches.
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, with preference for Azure exposure.
Working knowledge of scripting, debugging, and automation tools such as Postman.
Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
