RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer IV in Greenwood Village, CO.
Core Data Services/Company Business Portal Convergence:
This is a senior-level QA role for someone who does more than execute assigned test cases. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and doer who takes initiative, identifies what needs to happen next, drives testing forward, and takes ownership through resolution.
The team operates in the middle of highly interconnected data services and applications, requiring someone who can quickly understand complex system flows, manage competing priorities, and remain effective in a fast-moving environment. Current team responsibilities span multiple efforts, including Firestorm and Vortex, where QA resources may have significant individual ownership. This individual will help lead QA delivery and testing strategy for initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own QA activities from requirements through release, rather than waiting for testing tasks to be assigned
* Lead quality assurance delivery and help define the testing strategy, quality standards, and release-readiness criteria for complex Core Data and Company Business Portal initiatives
* Design, develop, execute, and maintain scalable automated progression and regression test suites, particularly for Identity and Access Management and credential/authentication applications
* Perform thorough API and backend testing, validating functionality, data flows, integrations, authentication, authorization, and end-to-end system behavior
* Balance manual and automated testing based on the maturity, complexity, and priority of the functionality being tested; Prior hiring notes indicate the environment can require roughly a 50/50 balance depending on system readiness and priorities
* Develop and maintain automation using Java, TestNG, Spring-based applications, and internal automation frameworks
REQUIREMENTS:
* 10+ years of Quality Assurance/Software Testing experience in complex enterprise environments
* Significant hands-on experience with both manual and automated QA
* Strong experience testing APIs, backend services, integrations, and data flows
* Strong Java-based test automation experience
* Hands-on experience with TestNG and Spring applications
* Experience using Postman and/or Bruno for API testing
* Experience working with AWS/cloud-based applications and services
* Experience with regression, progression, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing
* Strong test case management and documentation skills
* Ability to work effectively within a high-volume, rapidly changing technical environment
* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to work independently while partnering effectively across development, architecture, product, and QA teams
* Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches
* Able to use AI as an accelerator for strong QA judgment, rather than as a substitute for understanding the application, requirements, or underlying data flows
* Able to continuously look for opportunities to improve the team's testing approach and reduce unnecessary manual effort
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication, authorization, or credential-management applications
* Experience supporting complex Core Data or high-throughput platforms
* Experience working with internal/custom automation frameworks
* Experience operating as the primary or sole QA resource within a project or workstream
* Experience communicating or demonstrating technical work to senior stakeholders
