About the Opportunity
Our client, Deloitte, is seeking an experienced Workday HCM – Compensation Lead to support the design, configuration, and delivery of Workday Compensation functional areas for a higher education and government client.
The ideal candidate will have strong functional Workday Compensation expertise, prior experience with ERP transformations in higher education, and the ability to lead Compensation activities across requirements gathering, configuration, testing, knowledge transfer, and rollout.
Position Overview
The Workday HCM – Compensation Lead will serve as the functional area lead for Workday Compensation, providing expertise across solution design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
This role will work closely with client stakeholders to understand business requirements, demonstrate Workday functionality, document requirements and design decisions, configure the solution, and support testing and rollout activities.
The Compensation Lead will also provide functional guidance and support to other team members as required.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Compensation Leadership

Lead the design, configuration, and delivery of Workday Compensation functional areas.

Provide functional expertise across Workday Compensation processes and functionality.

Serve as a functional lead and provide guidance to support team members as required.

Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and compensation processes.

Demonstrate Workday Compensation features and functionality to clients.
Configuration & Implementation
-
Configure Workday Compensation based on approved requirements and design decisions.

Document business requirements, configurations, and design decisions.

Support ERP transformation and Workday implementation activities.

Provide functional knowledge transfer to the client team.

Support implementation, rollout, and deployment activities.
Requirements & Testing

Gather and document functional requirements.

Develop user stories and end-to-end testing scenarios.

Support end-to-end testing activities and document testing results.
-
Identify and help resolve functional issues and gaps during testing.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure Compensation deliverables are completed successfully.
Cutover & Delivery

Provide functional input into the cutover plan.

Support implementation readiness and rollout activities.

Coordinate with client and project teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Communicate requirements, issues, and project updates to relevant stakeholders.
Travel
-
Travel approximately 1–2 weeks per quarter.

Most travel will be within the Atlanta metropolitan area, Athens, or Macon.

Airfare, hotel, per diem in accordance with GSA rates, and taxi/rideshare or rental car expenses are covered by the client.
Required Qualifications

Workday HCM Compensation Certification is required.

Strong prior Workday experience.

Hands-on experience with Workday Compensation.

Experience with Workday Compensation configuration and implementation.

Experience with ERP transformations in higher education.

Strong understanding of Workday HCM functional processes.

Experience developing user stories and end-to-end testing scenarios.

Experience documenting end-to-end testing results.

Experience providing knowledge transfer to client teams.
