Position: Senior Plumbing Design Manager

About the Role
As a Senior Plumbing Engineering Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of plumbing designers and engineers in the delivery of complex pharmaceutical and industrial facility projects. You will provide technical leadership, ensure engineering excellence, and drive consistency, innovation, and operational efficiency across project execution.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of approximately 8 plumbing designers and engineers.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of plumbing design work for large-scale pharmaceutical and industrial projects.
Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise throughout all phases of project development.
Conduct comprehensive technical reviews and quality assurance checks of engineering deliverables.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on standardization, design quality, efficiency, and innovation.
Support resource planning, workload management, and professional development of team members.
Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, safety, and continuous learning.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical degree from an accredited institution in Plumbing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
15+ years of experience in an MEP design environment with a strong focus on plumbing systems design.
Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) credential preferred.
Deep understanding of plumbing system design, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard plumbing design software.
Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage multiple priorities, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver high-quality designs within project schedules and budgets.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience delivering plumbing design solutions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other highly regulated industrial facilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
Experience driving engineering standardization, quality initiatives, and process optimization across teams.
