Jobs at Boom Supersonic

Engine Performance & Operability Engineer

Centennial, Colorado

Boom Supersonic designed, built, and flew XB-1, the first civil supersonic jet made in America, and has sold Overture, the supersonic airliner, to major airlines. That same team is now building Symphony, the engine that powers Overture, and adapting Superpower, its industrial gas turbine, to power AI data centers. Superpower's next design and test decisions need defensible answers on power, heat rate, stall margin, starts, and load response. You will own defined performance and operability scop

Integration Engineer, Engine Assembly

Centennial, Colorado

We're not just designing an engine - we're building the systems, tooling, and processes to assemble one from scratch. As a Integration Engineer focused on engine assembly, you'll define how Superpower comes together: how components are staged, assembled, torqued, inspected, and tested. If you've lived inside turbomachinery builds, engine overhauls, or high-stakes mechanical assemblies - this is where you can leave your mark. Role Overview Define and own engine assembly processes for Superpower

A jet engine is a few thousand parts surviving temperatures above the melting point of the metals they're made from, at rotational speeds that push the limits of material science, for thousands of hours. Most engines take a decade and a billion dollars to develop. We are building ours differently. At Boom we are developing Symphony - the engine that will power Overture, the world's fastest airliner and Superpower, the natural gas turbine and revenue engine that fuels our endeavors while unblock

Advanced Process Engineer (Metal AM)

Centennial, Colorado

•

30+d ago

Boom is building Superpower, a first-of-its-kind industrial gas turbine for behind-the-grid energy generation, and Symphony, the engine that will return supersonic flight to passengers. Both run on high-temperature nickel superalloys, in parts that are already designed. Our job is making sure those parts exist on schedule - and additive manufacturing, running in parallel with castings, is how we guarantee it. We are standing up the metal AM line right now - machines, parameters, applications, an

Fuel and lube systems. Structural hardware. Component testing. Assembly processes built from scratch. At Boom, you'll own some of the hardest mechanical engineering challenges and real hardware - on day one of your career. We hire a small number of early-career engineers and give them a level of ownership that most companies reserve for people with a decade of experience. You won't be supporting someone else's design or waiting your turn. You'll be the engineer of record on systems that matter,

Stall margin on a high-pressure-ratio compressor. Cooling a turbine blade running in a gas path above its own melting point. At Boom, you'll own problems like these in your first year. We hire a small number of early-career engineers and give them more responsibility than their rsums justify. At most companies you'd spend a few years meshing geometry someone else defined and re-running cycle decks someone else scoped before you touch real hardware. Here, entry-level Turbomachinery Engineers get

Fast-transient power systems. Embedded controllers operating in millisecond time scales. Instrumentation and controls that turn a gas turbine into an intelligent machine. At Boom, you'll own some of the hardest electrical and embedded systems problems - on day one of your career. We hire a small number of extraordinary early-career engineers who are ready for a much bigger challenge than most companies would give them. Many places expect you to spend years updating schematics or debugging legac

Materials Engineer (Lab & Test)

Centennial, Colorado

•

Boom is building jet engines out of high-temperature superalloys, and every material decision we make - alloy selection, heat treat verification, allowables, failure analysis on parts pulled from our own test cell - depends on data generated in a materials lab. We're standing that lab up right now: mechanical testing (tensile, LCF, HCF, creep, high-temperature), metallography, and SEM. This is your chance to be the first dedicated lab and test engineer in a brand new lab and work with world-clas
