The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Interdisciplinary Engineer, GG-0855/0854/1550-13 to work for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled and classified by a candidate meeting the qualifications of occupational series: 0855, 0854, or 1550.

Salary Range: $132,751 to $181,428

This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. Qualifications:

The Engineer (GG-13) for the Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2) Program Office provides expert technical guidance on engineering policies, analyzing and mitigating technical risks, and developing robust systems architecture to ensure the successful delivery of advanced cyber capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for applying systems engineering and defense acquisition processes to oversee the design, development, integration, and testing of complex DoD systems. You will support the rapid acquisition lifecycle, maximizing operational availability and facilitating frequent capability releases and upgrades across mission applications. Additionally, this position requires advanced knowledge of engineering principles to guide the sustainment and modernization of critical cyberspace systems.

Must be able to obtain and retain Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.

This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employees must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing. This is an Engineering, Level II position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.

Incumbent will be subject to periodic polygraph testing.

SKILLS:

Proven experience managing technical risks and overseeing product development within modern DevSecOps environments.

Direct experience guiding software through the Certificate to Field (CTF) authorization process and securing Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for cyberspace mission systems.

Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, cloud-native architecture, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for software-intensive systems.

Strong technical communication skills with the ability to translate complex engineering challenges into actionable program decisions. Practical experience in implementing and executing incident response procedures and processes, including incident identification, containment, eradication, and recovery.

Ability to create clear and concise briefings, accurately document system topologies, and effectively manage documentation using collaborative tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Ability to effectively manage assigned tasks, accurately track progress, update project performance systems (e.g., PPS), and actively participate in Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.

Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology and in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues or problems.

Knowledge of agency, AF, DoD and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
