Job Description
We are seeking a Product Manager / Product Owner - AI to lead end-to-end AI initiatives aligned to a specific Line of Business or claims platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AI-enabled product delivery within claims or operations domains and a proven ability to translate business objectives into prioritized backlogs and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with claims leadership and operations to identify workflow bottlenecks, leakage drivers, customer friction, regulatory risks, and client performance commitments.
- Define AI use cases with measurable objectives such as reduced claim cycle time, improved reserving accuracy, enhanced fraud detection, and faster document processing.
- Decompose initiatives into epics and features that reflect operational workflows, system integrations, adjuster behavior, reporting needs, and compliance obligations.
- Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to validate feasibility, data availability, model explainability, and downstream operational impact.
- Own and refine the product backlog, prioritize by business value, and align with enterprise AI portfolio constraints.
- Author user stories with acceptance criteria grounded in real claims scenarios and operational realities.
- Engage in sprint execution to clarify process nuances, regulatory rules, and client-specific variations; validate solutions within claims workflows.
- Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to stakeholders; manage expectations on sequencing and timelines.
- Monitor post-deployment adoption and operational metrics; adjust priorities based on performance and user feedback.
- Balance operational urgency with disciplined backlog governance in response to client escalations or regulatory deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven product ownership experience delivering AI or data-driven solutions in claims, insurance operations, or similar regulated domains.
- Ability to translate business problems into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with machine learning lifecycle concepts, including data readiness, model validation, explainability, and deployment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technical teams.
- Experience with Agile methods, backlog prioritization, and sprint ceremonies.
- Understanding of claims workflows, regulatory considerations, and client reporting requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Background working with AI engineers and data scientists on operational use cases.
- Knowledge of model governance, risk, and compliance practices in regulated environments.
