Summary

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our team of Superintendents and ensure the successful execution of exterior renovation projects throughout Southern California. This leadership role serves as the direct link between field operations and our leadership, accounting, and project management teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction operations, team leadership, vendor management, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities for the Operations Manager Role:

  • Team Oversight: Directly manage and support a team of Construction Superintendents across multiple job sites. Provide mentorship, resolve field issues, and ensure adherence to company standards and project goals.
  • Operational Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact between Superintendents, Project Managers, and the leadership team. Coordinate site logistics, project timelines, and field resource allocation.
  • Vendor/Subcontractor Management: Review, verify, and process subcontractor and vendor pay applications for accuracy and timeliness. Ensure compliance with contract terms, lien releases, and insurance requirements.
  • Weekly Participation: Attend and contribute to weekly accounting and operations meetings. Provide field updates, discuss project budgets, and collaborate on issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
  • Schedule & Progress Monitoring: Ensure project milestones are being met. Review Superintendent reports, project schedules, and field performance metrics to maintain timelines and quality standards.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance: Promote and reinforce safety standards in line with OSHA and ECC protocols. Collaborate with Superintendents to ensure work meets specifications and quality expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and suggest or implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce cost overruns across all Southern California projects.

Qualifications for the Operations Manager Role:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction operations or field management, preferably in large-scale exterior renovation.
  • Prior experience managing teams of Superintendents or field personnel across multiple active projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of subcontractor management, pay applications, and construction financials.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with construction software platforms (e.g., Company Cam, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Comfortable presenting in meetings and collaborating cross-functionally.

Requirements and Preferences for the Operations Manager Role:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are a plus.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily on-site at construction locations.
  • Will require travel between job sites.
  • May involve extended hours or weekend work depending on project needs.
