Location: onsite in Southwick, MA- Possibility of a swing shift to work until 8-9pm EST. Local Candidates only.

Duration: contract to hire. No sponsorship available

Rate: $45-50 an hour W2; 75-110K permanent (no Corp to Corp available for this opening)

Description:

We are seeking a skilled NOC Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This role focuses on monitoring, supporting, and optimizing our clients' network environments. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in firewalls and network switching, with additional experience in Active Directory considered a valuable plus.

This position begins as a 60-day contract, with the goal of transitioning the right candidate into a permanent full-time role based on performance.



Key Responsibilities

Monitor and support customer environments within the Managed Services NOC.

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls (various vendors) and switching infrastructure.

Perform network diagnostics, incident response, and root-cause analysis.

Support Active Directory environments (user management, group policies, authentication issues).

Participate in shift coverage, including potential swing shift ending between 8-9 PM EST.

Document technical processes, incident resolutions, and network changes.

Collaborate with senior engineers and service managers to deliver exceptional client support.



Required Qualifications

3-5+ years of experience in a network engineering or NOC engineer role.



Strong proficiency in:

Firewall administration (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall).

Network switching (VLANs, trunking, STP, L2/L3 troubleshooting).

Familiarity with Active Directory, including user/group management.

Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under time pressure.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Willingness to work a swing shift as needed.



Preferred Qualifications

Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+, or vendor-specific firewall certifications.

Experience working in an MSP or NOC environment.

Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
