Position: Scala Developer @ New York, NY

Location: NEW YORK, NY

Onsite Position

Only Locals to the NJ/NY area are preferred

Skills Required 

  • Technical skills: 
    • Solid RDBMS and SQL knowledge
    • Strong database-related hands-on development experience, especially in DB2
    • Experience with Java EE (Spring, Gradle)
    • Exposure to Scala
    • Familiarity with ETL
    • Familiarity with Linux and Windows development environments
  • Willing to upskill and contribute in software modernization journey to latest tech stacks
  • Working familiarity with BDD and TDD approaches in software lifecycles
  • Working familiarity using GenAI-powered IDEs, such as VS Code and Co-Pilot
  • A generalist with demonstrated abilities in specific areas and a strong ability to deliver reliably
  • Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks and projects, able to work with the global team, and manage time and tasks effectively and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with object-oriented software development
  • Experience with modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile processes Familiarity 

Skills Desired 

  • Experience with a scripting language; Python preferred
  • Experience in the financial industry
  • Experience with JIRA and standard Agile ceremonies and practices
  • Familiarity with Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Data Warehouse / Data Lake reporting concepts and design
