Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Project Manager – Consultant to manage multiple high-priority IT projects.
Working under the direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) or designee, the Project Manager will collaborate with multiple business units, internal teams, executive leadership, and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on complex, change-oriented projects and will have strong project management, communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
The successful candidate will become deeply engaged with the business and project environment to understand project details, business needs, risks, and dependencies—not simply manage the project schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with gathering and developing business requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and execute projects according to established timelines and objectives.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and risk triggers.
- Monitor project activities, milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure high-quality and timely completion.
- Prepare and communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommended strategies both verbally and in writing.
- Develop and maintain project management documentation, artifacts, portfolio/program plans, metrics, and reports.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, management, and internal and external organizations.
- Coordinate with vendors and outsourced service providers involved in project delivery.
- Estimate effort for technical tasks and support resource allocation and project planning.
- Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders with competing or diverse priorities.
- Present project information, status, risks, and recommendations to executive management.
- Manage multiple high-profile and high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Perform other related project management duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- 3+ years of project management experience in a healthcare insurance information technology environment.
- Strong project planning and execution experience.
- Experience with effort estimation for technical tasks and resource allocation.
- Strong risk and issue management skills, including identifying risk triggers and incorporating mitigation strategies into project plans.
- Ability to create and maintain key project management documents and artifacts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to present to executive management.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective listening and collaboration skills.
- Ability to continuously engage with diverse stakeholders, teams, and organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicaid or Healthcare Delivery Systems.
- Experience with healthcare claims systems or Medicaid IT projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Previous experience working with public-sector or government organizations is a plus.
