Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in the banking domain to lead large-scale, complex initiatives and serve as the primary interface with client stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in PMO practices, stakeholder management, business reviews, and executive-level business reporting, along with the ability to drive delivery excellence in a highly regulated financial environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, including senior leadership, business sponsors, and external partners
  • Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for banking and financial services initiatives
  • Establish and manage PMO governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across assigned programs and projects
  • Oversee stakeholder management, including expectation setting, risk communication, dependency tracking, and issue resolution
  • Conduct regular business reviews with client stakeholders to assess project health, outcomes, and alignment with business objectives
  • Prepare and present executive-ready business reporting, including project dashboards, status reports, financial metrics, and risk assessments
  • Ensure adherence to banking regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, scope, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating appropriately to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, operations, risk, compliance, and business units
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and project management maturity
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to overall PMO capability building

Mandatory Skills and Competencies

  • PMO Leadership: Strong experience in PMO setup, governance, reporting, and operating models
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage, influence, and manage senior client stakeholders and executives
  • Business Reviews: Expertise in leading structured business reviews and steering committee meetings
  • Business Reporting: Advanced experience in executive-level reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and financial summaries
  • Banking Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of banking processes, systems, and regulatory environments

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Overall Experience: 12–15 years of professional experience
  • Banking Domain Experience: Minimum 10+ years working within the banking or financial services industry
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale, client-facing projects in enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Clarity, or similar)
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, onsite, client-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent PM certification
  • Experience working with Tier-1 banks or large financial institutions
  • Prior experience managing multi-vendor or offshore delivery models

  • Willingness to work onsite in Charlotte, NC from Day 1

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and drive outcomes in complex stakeholder environments
