We are looking for Laboratory Technician for our client in Johnston, IA

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Location: Johnston, IA

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Duties:

Culture and process microbial strains.
Extract total protein from bacteria and plant samples.
Provide support in sample prep for whole genome sequencing.
Perform PCR, molecular cloning and protein expression.
Maintain inventory of basic lab supplies and equipment.
Maintain detailed biological sample inventory in the lab.
Migrate inventory records into databases.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Microbiology or other related science.
Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
Proficient knowledge of and experience in aseptic techniques.
Very good organization skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Other Experience:

Experience to work with BSL-2 microorganisms.
Experience with molecular biology techniques.
Experience in genomic DNA extraction from biological samples.
