Job Description
Corteva Agriscience seeks a responsible and motivated Research Associate to join the Trait Discovery Mass Spectrometry (TDMS) team within Protein and Analytical Core Technologies (PACT). The team applies varied enzymatic digestions, high performance liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry methods for protein identification and quantification across diverse sample types. The Research Associate will prepare reagents and manage inventory, perform sample extractions, conduct total protein determinations, execute enzymatic digestions, and operate laboratory equipment to ensure timely and quality results for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure materials for production are prepared properly, on time, and safely.
- Perform routine lab support including solution preparation, general cleaning and maintenance, supply inventory, and equipment and assay operation.
- Execute sample extraction, total protein quantitation, and enzymatic digestion.
- Assist with loading and running digested samples on chromatography and mass spectrometry systems.
- Troubleshoot processes as needed and promote a safe working environment.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
- Strong wet-lab skills with attention to detail and focus.
- Ability to work well in teams and independently.
- Experience with problem identification, problem solving, and process improvement.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, and committed to personal and technical growth.
- Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Protein-specific analysis experience.
- Sample preparation for proteomics, knowledge of mass spectrometry, and database maintenance.
- Experience with high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
