On-site in Charlotte, NC

Our client is seeking a skilled Network / Wireless Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and deployment of enterprise wired, wireless, and cellular network infrastructure. The role will support network switches, wireless access points, network access control, mobile routers, monitoring platforms, and day-to-day network operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and business units.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $40.00 to $43.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Support the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise wired and wireless networks.
  • Work with Aruba Central, HPE GreenLake, Aruba network switches, Aruba access points, and Aruba ClearPass.
  • Support mobile router technologies, including Sierra Wireless, Cradlepoint, or similar enterprise cellular router platforms.
  • Monitor network and wireless performance, identify issues, and assist with timely resolution.
  • Support network access control, device profiling, port profiling, port security, and related cybersecurity practices.
  • Assist with incidents, service requests, change activities, site support, and project related tasks.
  • Review network alerts, logs, and operational reports to identify service impacting issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, troubleshooting steps, site details, and completed work.
  • Work with team members, vendors, and other technical groups to support network projects and daily operations.
  • Travel to different work locations as needed to support switches, wireless access points, mobile routers, and site based troubleshooting.

Experience Requirements:
  • Professional experience supporting enterprise network and wireless environments.
  • Working knowledge of Aruba Central and HPE GreenLake.
  • Working knowledge of Aruba switches and Aruba wireless access points.
  • Working knowledge of Aruba ClearPass or similar network access control platforms.
  • Working knowledge of mobile router technologies, including Sierra Wireless and Cradlepoint or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
  • Understanding of VLANs, switching, routing, DHCP, DNS, wireless and cellular connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for network access, device profiling, port profiling, port security, segmentation, and infrastructure protection.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, document work accurately, and provide timely updates.

Education Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Networking, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 3 years of professional IT experience. OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 5 years of professional IT experience.
  • Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States.
  • Preferred: Industry certifications such as Aruba, Cisco, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, wireless, networking, or cybersecurity.
