About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Management Analyst (Contract) to support advanced metadata, data quality, and automation initiatives within Wells Fargo's Finance Data Management organization. This role is designed for a subject-matter expert who can drive complex data management work, influence strategic decisions, and own high-impact workstreams from day one.

As a contingent resource, you will provide specialized expertise across data governance, data quality, metadata standards, and automated controls-enabling enterprise-level data accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert to shape and influence data management initiatives across complex business and technical domains.
  • Consult on strategy and provide solutions for highly complex, cross-functional data challenges requiring deep analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Deliver long-term, scalable solutions involving data governance, metadata frameworks, and automated controls.
  • Provide expert guidance to senior leadership on advanced Data Management practices and innovation opportunities.
  • Actively collaborate with partners across Data Management, Data Product, Technology, and Business teams.
  • Lead sophisticated work efforts including:
    • Metadata harvesting and enrichment
    • Data lineage design and development
    • Root cause analysis for data defects
    • Design and automation of data quality controls
  • Apply advanced technical skills in Python, SQL, APIs, and automation frameworks to modernize and streamline data management processes.
  • Apply a strong understanding of data risk, controls, and regulatory expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management, or equivalent (via work, consulting, military experience, training, or education).
  • Proven experience delivering solutions across complex data environments and governance frameworks.
