About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support a major data-platform modernization effort, migrating enterprise-scale datasets from Teradata to Google BigQuery. In this role, you will work as a key contributor on a technical delivery team, collaborating closely with engineering partners to design, build, test, and optimize cloud-based data solutions.

You will consult on and participate in medium-to-large, complex initiatives, applying strong analytical and engineering expertise to solve technical challenges. This position requires a solid understanding of software engineering principles, cloud architecture, data security, and Agile delivery practices.
What You'll Do

• Participate in planning, design, and delivery of moderately complex software engineering initiatives.
• Analyze and solve technical challenges involving data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based workloads.
• Contribute to the migration of enterprise data environments from Teradata to Google BigQuery.
• Review engineering requirements and evaluate multiple technical factors to determine optimal solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to meet engineering, compliance, and security standards.
• Communicate technical concepts and project updates to stakeholders at varying levels of the organization.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately and drive them through to resolution.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent combination of training, education, military, or consulting experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata.
• 5+ years with ETL Ab Initio.
• 5+ years of advanced SQL development.
• 3+ years of cloud computing experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Google BigQuery.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience with Spark and Python.
• 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps practices and automated cloud deployments.
• 3+ years working in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Industry-recognized Cloud certification (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services.
• Demonstrated ability to present complex technical information clearly and effectively.
• Proven success collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Experience contributing to strategy development and execution.
• Knowledge of database security, data governance, and application security architecture.
