Remote with Occasional Travel
Our healthcare client is seeking two Cloud Application Architects for a remote contract position to support large-scale cloud modernization and migration initiatives across Azure and AWS. These roles focus on designing secure, scalable, and compliant architectures for clinical and third-party healthcare applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and guide cloud architectures for Epic, Cerner, and key ancillary systems.
- Lead application assessments, migration strategies, and modernization planning.
- Support cloud buildout (compute, storage, security, networking, containers, serverless).
- Oversee migration execution, pilots, proofs of concept, and testing.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clinical, security, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders.
Required Experience
- 7-10+ years in cloud or enterprise application architecture.
- Hands-on experience supporting/integrating Epic, Cerner, or major EMRs.
- Proven Azure and/or AWS migration experience.
- Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA/HITRUST, and high-availability architectures.
- Familiarity with migration tools (Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure, Zerto, etc.).
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering hospital or IDN cloud migrations.
- AWS or Azure architect certifications.
- Background in healthcare provider environments.
