Job Summary:
Seeking a highly experienced Senior Observability Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Dynatrace SaaS to lead enterprise-scale observability deployments across AWS and Azure environments. This role will focus on designing, automating, and scaling Dynatrace capabilities across complex distributed systems while partnering closely with DevOps, SRE, Cloud, and Application Engineering teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong Dynatrace implementation experience, DevOps automation expertise, and the ability to mentor teams while driving observability best practices across the enterprise.
 
Key Responsibilities
Dynatrace Observability Engineering
  • Lead enterprise-scale Dynatrace deployments across distributed microservices, serverless workloads, and multi-region/multi-cloud environments.
  • Maintain Dynatrace governance standards, including multi-tenant configurations, fine-grained access controls, and logical segmentation strategies.
  • Configure and optimize APM instrumentation, PurePath distributed tracing, Smartscape topology mapping, and advanced observability capabilities.
  • Build and maintain custom dashboards, management zones, tagging strategies, and entity metadata configurations.
  • Develop alerting profiles, anomaly detection rules, Davis AI configurations, and automated remediation workflows.
  • Leverage Davis AI for root cause analysis through intelligent correlation of metrics, logs, traces, and events.
  • Implement HTTP and Browser Synthetic Monitoring along with performance baselines.
  • Configure Real User Monitoring (RUM) for web and mobile applications, including user journey analysis and experience insights.
  • Manage Dynatrace Grail and Log Management capabilities, including log ingest pipelines, processing rules, and retention policies.
  • Integrate Dynatrace with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Develop OpenTelemetry (OTel) integrations and custom plugins.
DevOps & Automation
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Develop self-service automation solutions using Python and scripting technologies.
Incident Management & SRE
  • Support ITIL-based operational processes and ITSM workflows using ServiceNow.
  • Participate as a production on-call responder with strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.
  • Create Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation and technical knowledge articles.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
Security & Compliance
  • Manage service accounts and access permissions.
  • Create, deploy, and manage digital certificates.
  • Respond to security incidents and perform remediation activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of hands-on Dynatrace implementation experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Strong expertise with AWS and Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience with Linux systems and networking concepts.
  • Experience working in SAFe Agile delivery environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required.
