Position : ADO TEST PLANNING / SAP Test Lead (Contract)
Location : Plano TX (Day 1 Onsite)
Job Description :
The ADO TEST PLANNING / SAP Test Lead will be responsible for defining, configuring, and governing enterprise-scale test management, DevOps enablement, and SAP testing delivery using Azure DevOps.
This role requires a strong blend of ADO technical expertise, test governance leadership, and SAP S/4HANA test leadership, working across large transformation programs with multiple workstreams, vendors, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Azure DevOps (ADO) DevOps & Test Management
- Own end-to-end Azure DevOps Test Management setup including Test Plans, Test Suites, Test Points, Configurations, and Runs.
- Design and enforce ADO-based test governance frameworks for SIT, UAT, Regression, E2E, and Security testing.
- Customize ADO work item types (Test Case, Bug, User Story, Task) with workflows, rules, fields, and permissions.
- Automate ADO operations using REST APIs, PowerShell, Python, and YAML pipelines.
- Enable traceability across Business Scenarios → Test Cases → Defects → Releases within ADO.
Test Governance & Quality Leadership
- Define and manage enterprise test strategy, plans, and execution models across multiple releases.
- Establish test metrics and KPIs (execution progress, defect density, defect aging, leakage, pass/fail trends).
- Drive defect triage, risk management, and release readiness processes.
- Coordinate onshore-offshore testing teams and multi-vendor delivery models.
- Ensure compliance with QA standards, audit readiness, and documentation requirements.
SAP Test Lead Responsibilities
- Lead testing for SAP S/4HANA Greenfield, Brownfield, or Rollout implementations.
- Manage testing across SAP modules such as FICO, OTC, P2P, R2R, MM, SD, PP, WM/EWM.
- Oversee RICEFW testing (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
- Drive E2E integration testing across SAP and non-SAP systems (PLM, MES, WMS, CRM, Legacy).
- Partner with Business SMEs and System Integrators to ensure business-aligned quality outcomes. Support cutover, dress rehearsal, and go-live validation activities.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Build Power BI dashboards using ADO data for program and executive reporting.
- Provide clear weekly and milestone-based test status and risk reporting.
- Communicate effectively with program leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of overall experience in Test Management / QA Leadership roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) including Test Plans and Pipelines.
- Strong experience as SAP Test Lead on S/4HANA implementations.
- Hands-on expertise with ADO REST APIs, PowerShell, Python, and YAML.
- Deep understanding of SAP testing methodologies and enterprise QA governance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification.
- Experience integrating ADO with Power BI for advanced analytics.
- Exposure to security testing, role-based testing, and compliance validation.
