The IT team supports a variety of enterprise applications related to customer, financial, and employee needs. These applications run across platforms including Java/Oracle, Microsoft/SQL Server/.NET, enterprise financial systems, business intelligence tools, and CRM platforms. The team is actively modernizing core systems by migrating key applications to a microservices architecture and executing a roadmap to move applications to the cloud.
This is an exciting opportunity for a
Software Engineer II to join a growing technology team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to solve complex business problems and serve as a subject matter expert within your area of focus. You will represent your team on complex initiatives and contribute to evaluating the effectiveness of technology solutions through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation.
You will make recommendations that improve quality, performance, and overall system effectiveness, while collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand needs and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business expectations.
Qualifications
Required
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
- This position offers the opportunity to work fully remote within the United States (must currently reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, ID, IL (excludes Cook County), IA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, NV, NM, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI. Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
- Strong commitment to incorporating security into all technical decisions and daily responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience in Java-based software development
- Expert-level experience with Python
- Hands-on experience with RESTful web services, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway
- Knowledge of API security frameworks, token management, and access control (e.g., OAuth, JWT, OpenAPI, identity providers)
- Experience querying and integrating data from multiple sources, including APIs, relational databases, and document stores
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect - Associate, Developer - Associate)
- Experience building or modifying CI/CD pipelines using Git-based repositories
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging services (e.g., queues, notifications) for system integrations
