Job Description:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
  • Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability
  • Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
  • Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
  • Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:
  • SD-WAN implementation and optimization
  • Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics)
  • ecurity integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)
  • Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
  • Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership
  • Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures
  • Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager.
  • All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Texas Department of Public Safety and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Texas Department of Public Safety will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).
