Job Description:
S/4 Technical Project Manager Current Landscape: Long-standing on-prem ECC customer. Highly customized solution deployed across all (55) agencies of state. Approximately 85,000 employees. Solution includes all financials (FI/CO, OTC, Procurement, EAM, PS), HCM (Employee Central, Payroll, Time, Benefits), Document Management, BW, and GRC.
Project Overview:
Greenfield S/4HANA implementation and SF Employee Central with select data transfer
Little to no migration of custom objects and configuration SAP is the prime SI RISE implementation
Job Summary: Technical Project Manager to lead the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors for a public services organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP project management, BTP, data migration, analytics, MDG, system integrations, and public sector compliance, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
Key Roles & Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Planning:
Lead end-to-end technical teams for a SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors implementation for public services, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, tracking progress against milestones.
Coordinate with functional and technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure searnless execution.
Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with public sector regulations (e.g., data security, accessibility, procurement policies).
Technical & Functional Oversight:
Oversee system architecture, customization, and integration between S/4HANA and SuccessFactors (e.g., Employee Central, Payroll, Recruitment).
Ensure data migration, testing, and validation meet public sector requirements (e.g., HR, finance, procurement).
Collaborate with SAP Basis, ABAP, and Fiori teams to optimize system performance and user experience.
Collaborate with Premium Endangerment team. Manage third-party vendors and consultants, ensuring adherence to project standards.
Stakeholder &Change Management:
Facilitate workshops, training, and change management initiatives for end-users and leadership.
Act as the primary liaison between IT, HR, Finance, and Public Sector leadership. Ensure compliance with government policies (e.g., GDPR, accessibility standards, audit requirements).
Quality Assurance & Go-Live Support:
Support Realize functional teams to interact with all the technical teams during the solution build, support System Testing and resolve defects before deployment.
Lead cutover planning and go-live activities, ensuring minimal disruption to public services. Provide post-implementation support, monitoring system performance and user adoption.
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of SAP project management experience, with at least 2 full-cycle implementations of S/4HANA and/or SuccessFactors. Strong knowledge of public sector IT governance, compliance, and procurement processes.
Experience with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and SAP Activate framework. Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, Gr SAP Project Management is a plus.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience:
Prior work in government, healthcare, or education sectors. Familiarity with SAP Public Sector solutions (e.g., SAP for Public Sector, GR/IR). Experience with cloud migrations and hybrid SAP landscapes.
