Senior SAP BASIS Lead S/4HANA
Location: Raritan, NJ
Hybrid - 3 days in a week

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP BASIS Lead to provide technical leadership for SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation programs. This role will be responsible for managing the SAP technical landscape, leading BASIS operations, and supporting cloud, RISE with SAP, and SAP BTP environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across multiple full-cycle S/4HANA implementations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams in complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the SAP BASIS team in managing and supporting the technical landscape for SAP S/4HANA implementation projects.
- Oversee system installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management across SAP environments.
- Manage SAP landscapes across Development, Quality, PreProduction, and Production systems.
- Define and implement environment strategies, including system refresh cycles, transport management, and cutover planning.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure system availability, performance, and compliance.
- Support RISE with SAP, S/4HANA, and SAP BTP deployments and integrations.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, batch job scheduling, and interface stability.
- Ensure adherence to change management, incident management, and release management processes.
- Provide technical leadership during go-lives, system audits, disaster recovery drills, and production support.
- Mentor junior BASIS consultants and promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 12+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BASIS administration, with at least 3 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations.
- Strong expertise in:
- SAP S/4HANA system architecture
- SAP HANA database administration
- Transport Management System (TMS)
- Hands-on experience with SAP Solution Manager and/or Focused Run.
- Experience with SAP on Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and SAP BTP.
- Familiarity with SAP Landscape Management (LaMa) and SAP Maintenance Planner.
- Strong understanding of clean core principles, system extensibility, and technical upgrade planning.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working in large enterprise or multivendor environments.
- Comfortable working with global teams and supporting critical milestones.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP BASIS / S/4HANA related certifications.
- Prior experience with large transformation or modernization programs.
- Exposure to automation and monitoring tools for BASIS operations.
