Description
We are looking for an IT Hardware Technician to join our Information Technology team. This contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on team member who enjoys supporting end users, maintaining core workplace technology, and assisting with cabling and physical security installations across multiple sites. In this role, you will help keep systems running smoothly by resolving technical issues, preparing equipment for users, and contributing to network and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Deliver first- and second-level technical assistance for computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other workplace hardware.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems to support day-to-day business operations.
Manage directory services tasks such as setting up user profiles, updating access rights, resetting credentials, and maintaining group memberships.
Support Microsoft 365 tools, including email, collaboration, file storage, and document-sharing platforms.
Prepare, deploy, and maintain end-user equipment and software for both onboarding and ongoing operational needs.
Investigate and resolve workstation, wireless, and general network connectivity issues across supported locations.
Install and service IP camera equipment, surveillance technology, access control devices, and related physical security systems.
Perform low-voltage cabling work, including routing, labeling, terminating, and testing Cat5e and Cat6 infrastructure.
Maintain clear technical documentation such as issue records, system details, cabling information, and network diagrams.
Work with outside vendors and internal stakeholders on upgrades, relocations, equipment rollouts, and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience providing IT support in a detail-oriented setting.
Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 administration and issue resolution.
Experience supporting Active Directory user management, permissions, and group administration.
Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Practical experience with structured cabling, including pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
Understanding of basic networking concepts involving switches, routers, TCP/IP, and wireless environments.
Ability to read technical layouts, cabling diagrams, and floor plans accurately.
