Role Overview
The Associate Cybersecurity Engineer will support the Information Security organization by monitoring security activity, maintaining security infrastructure, and assisting in the prevention, detection, and remediation of cybersecurity incidents. Working closely with senior cybersecurity engineers, IT teams, and business stakeholders, this role contributes to the continuous improvement of security policies, controls, and architectures across global platforms.
This position is well-suited for a security professional who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within a collaborative cybersecurity team.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage enterprise security tools and infrastructure to detect and respond to security events and incidents.
Implement, configure, and maintain next-generation firewall (NGFW) solutions to enforce network security policies and protect against advanced threats.
Support and monitor Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) implementations, including Secure Web Gateways (SWG), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB).
Assist with Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives, including centralized authentication, authorization, and privileged access management, with a strong focus on least-privilege principles.
Utilize the Microsoft Security Suite (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra / Azure Active Directory) to investigate, analyze, and remediate security threats across on‑premises and cloud environments.
Support security configuration changes and participate in security triage and incident response activities.
Develop and maintain technical procedures, policies, and processes aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Analyze security risks and recommend remediation actions to strengthen overall security posture.
Collaborate effectively with IT, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure system implementations.
Communicate security findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Cloud security engineering
Network security engineering
Security operations (SOC)
Insider risk management
Security event monitoring and response
Hands-on experience with security and infrastructure tools such as:
Cloud & IAM: Microsoft Azure, Okta, Duo, OCI
Network & Edge Security: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler
Endpoint & SIEM: Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel
Solid understanding of security principles, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex security concepts in a clear, actionable manner.
High standards of ethics, professionalism, urgency, and customer focus.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or KQL.
Familiarity with Zero Trust security architectures.
Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
