IT Manager (Hands-On)

Location: Downtown Denver, CO (onsite)

 Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 depending on experience

Innovar Group is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to support a growing Denver-based organization in the energy sector. This individual will serve as the primary internal technology resource, partnering closely with a third-party IT provider while helping guide system improvements, security practices, analytics initiatives, and future technology direction.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small-company environment with autonomy and ownership, while remaining technically involved day to day.

Scope of Work

• Serve as the primary internal contact for all IT needs across the organization
• Coordinate activities with a third-party IT services provider and ensure service effectiveness
• Support end users across hardware, software, and network environments
• Assist with planning and implementation of IT initiatives and system improvements
• Help evaluate and recommend technology solutions aligned with business needs
• Maintain documentation of systems, workflows, and IT processes
• Support cybersecurity best practices across the organization
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation, analytics, and emerging technology solutions
• Help support the long-term development of the organization’s internal IT capabilities

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT experience
• Proven experience working in oil & gas systems and applications
• Experience coordinating with or managing a third-party IT provider (MSP)
• Ability to independently support technology operations within a small organization
• Strong experience with:
• Microsoft 365
• Active Directory
• Networking fundamentals
• Cybersecurity best practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting data analytics initiatives
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Exposure to automation or AI productivity tools
• Experience helping scale IT environments in growing organizations
