Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UX Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior UX Designer, you will be responsible for leading the user experience design efforts for your given product area, collaborating with other designers and cross-functional teams, and creating innovative solutions that add value and meet both user needs as well as business objectives. Your expertise in user-centered design, user research, interaction design, and information architecture will be essential in shaping the direction of our digital experiences.

This position is a tireless advocate for the end-user, and contributes to the continued evolution of our design methods and delivery. This role will be accountable for strong results and will have ample opportunities to make a significant impact on the daily lives of our users and our business.

A firm understanding of user-centered design principles and user research methodologies is crucial for success in the role. Empathy, creative problem-solving, comfort with uncertainty, pairing with team members, excellent communication skills, curiosity and learning are the foundational characteristics of the Senior UX Designer.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute on the end-to-end UX design process for your product, from early stage research to implementation and ongoing refinement, ensuring the delivery of high-quality user-centered designs that align with business goals and user needs.
  • Conduct generative and evaluative user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gain deep insights into user behavior, motivations, and pain points.
  • Leverage user research findings to develop an in-depth understanding of user psychology and behaviors and craft user personas, empathy maps, user flows, journey maps, and other artifacts that help inform the design process.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to define project goals, requirements, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure the successful implementation of design solutions and provide guidance on interaction design and front-end development best practices.
  • Translate user insights and business requirements into intuitive, engaging, user-centered design solutions, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.
  • Advocate for the user and ensure that all design decisions are based on user needs and clearly demonstrate how proposed solutions solve those needs.
  • Present design concepts, solutions, strategies, and user research findings to stakeholders, effectively communicating design rationale and incorporating feedback into iterations.
  • Follow and contribute to design guidelines, patterns, and best practices to maintain consistency and cohesiveness across our digital products.
  • Identify and measure behavioral analytics for your product that tie to product and business goals. Help development teams in implementing the appropriate analytics.
  • Track and report on UX metrics that show a clear impact and value to the organization and communicate them effectively.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and UX design methodologies, and apply them to continuously improve our design methods, processes, and deliverables.
  • Help mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback and fostering their growth and development.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years' related or direct professional experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in at least one of the 3 design pillars: user research, interaction design or visual design.
  • 1+ years of working effectively with Agile and lean philosophies
  • 1+ years' experience working independently with clients or stakeholder and designing business or enterprise applications
  • 1+ years' experience executing user-centered design methodologies by leading product design decisions from research through implementation
  • 1+ years' experience working in design and prototyping software tools such as Figma, Sketch, Axure and InVision
  • 1+ year of experience with modern front-end technologies and open source frameworks (e.g. Material Design, HTML/CSS, grid systems, responsive design)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in UI design including a strong grasp on visual hierarchy, spacing, typography, etc.
  • Healthcare experience
  • Enterprise UX experience
  • Understanding of and experience working with design systems and component-based design
  • Experience planning and facilitating design workshops

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science or similar. Equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree considered.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
