Role Overview
We are seeking a Robotics Software Engineer with strong expertise in robotic control systems and industrial automation, specifically within oil and gas environments. The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying robotic solutions for drilling and pipe handling applications.
The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with robotic frameworks, control systems, and sensor integration, along with the ability to work in field environments and collaborate with cross functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop robotic systems for oil and gas drilling and pipe handling applications.
Develop software for real time control, telemetry, and remote operation of robotic platforms.
Integrate sensors and control systems for automation, data acquisition, and monitoring.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to prototype and test robotic solutions.
Conduct field trials and validation testing in both simulated and live environments.
Analyze system performance data and optimize for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
Document engineering processes, system configurations, and test results.
Support deployment and maintenance of robotic systems in field environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
8–12 years of experience in robotics, automation, or control systems engineering.
Experience working in industrial environments, preferably oil and gas.
Experience working with robotic control software and real time systems.
Technical Skills
Hands on experience with Actin robotic control software.
Experience with Energid robotic control solutions.
Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and ROS.
Experience with ROS Industrial, RViz, MoveIt, and related tools.
Strong understanding of control systems, kinematics, and embedded systems.
Experience integrating sensors such as ultrasonic, LiDAR, inductive proximity, and pressure sensors.
Experience developing real time control and telemetry systems.
Soft Skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work in field conditions and travel to remote locations.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on autonomous or semi autonomous robotic systems.
