Job Description:
Apex Systems is currently hiring am experienced Product Owner to join a growing client in Greenwood Village, CO.

Duration: Contract through 2026 to start, potential to extend and convert to FTE
Location: Greenwood Village, CO
Onsite Requirement: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote per week
Pay range: $60-70/hr

What you'll do
Translate functional requirements into clear, actionable user stories.
Partner closely with design to ensure alignment between UX/UI and system behavior.
Own stories through the full lifecycle: refinement development UAT release validation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies
Validate development output, conduct smoke testing, and ensure production behavior meets expectations.
Maintain a clean, prioritized backlog and ensure stories meet definition of ready/done.
Engage directly with SMEs, PMs, and delivery teams to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity.
Support cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with other Product Owners.

Must-have experience
5-10+ years of Product Owner and similar experience.
Proven ability to independently write high-quality user stories and refine requirements.
Experience participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Ability to partner with design and development to ensure stories are actionable and aligned.
Cross-functional collaboration and participation in discovery/requirements-gathering sessions.
Strong analytical thinking with both process and system-design awareness.
Jira proficiency for ticket management and reporting.
Prior background in development or technical analysis - helpful for writing dev-friendly stories.
