Position Summary

The organization's highest priority initiative is to implement a Salesforce instance that supports key business functions. To make this technology implementation successful, the team is seeking a Product Manager with Salesforce experience who will be responsible for managing the technology implementation, coordinating between business, technical, and vendor stakeholders, and ensuring that the Salesforce instance meets business needs throughout all phases of development and maintenance.

With support from its vendors and technology partners, the organization aims to define standardized business processes, provide a modern digital experience, and enable timely delivery of critical technology solutions that can be continuously improved.

As a Product Manager, you will coordinate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver a user-centered product using modern software development practices while helping build capacity for product innovation within the organization. This role will be responsible for surfacing key decisions impacting software development, analyzing trade-offs related to business goals, and making recommendations to leadership regarding the best path forward. The Product Manager will work closely with business and technical leads to ensure alignment across stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have experience managing software products or leading product development initiatives, a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, and the ability to drive progress. Experience managing or configuring applications in Salesforce is strongly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership to define operational goals and communicate these goals to technology vendors.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to capture detailed needs and requirements, including writing and prioritizing user stories.

  • Manage product management milestones and artifacts, including backlog prioritization, feature triaging, and expediting development while communicating updates to vendors and development teams.

  • Ensure successful implementation by identifying opportunities for process standardization in coordination with internal stakeholders and implementation teams.

  • Partner with technical leadership to ensure digital offerings align with broader technology capabilities, policies, and architectural standards.

  • Establish a vision for how the Salesforce platform will support organizational needs now and in the future.

  • Stay informed about upcoming Salesforce technologies and services that can support future enhancements.

  • Recommend technology strategies that support current needs while adapting to future organizational changes.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the organization's software application, helping stakeholders understand capabilities, limitations, risks, and costs associated with technology decisions.

  • Promote a productive and meaningful user experience (UX) that balances user needs with technical feasibility and sustainability.

  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with technology vendors to define requirements and use cases for feature development, enhancements, and issue resolution.

  • Ensure use cases, business requirements, and demonstrations accurately reflect business processes and desired outcomes.

  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), review feedback, and update requirements or user stories as needed.

  • Provide support to administrative and end users in utilizing the software platform.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor s degree.

  • 5+ years of professional experience.

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role within IT, the private sector, or public sector environments (preferred).


Additional Qualifications

  • Experience managing software products, including end-to-end product development and team leadership.

  • Experience managing or administering applications within a Salesforce environment.

  • Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including facilitating key milestones and delivery processes.

  • Strategic thinker capable of identifying and evaluating problems, even with incomplete information, and driving resolutions with minimal oversight.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leadership, managers, and employees at all levels.

  • Ability to develop strong product strategies and gain buy-in from teams, partners, and contractors.

  • Ability to define product objectives and create clear plans and communications to achieve them.

  • Experience leading discussions to gather business and user requirements and translating them into clear, non-technical documentation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly around technical, user experience, and project management trade-offs.

  • Experience with vendor management and contract coordination for large-scale technology products or web services.
