Job Description:
  • As a Senior Systems Engineer on the Systems Engineering Team, you will be responsible for driving various initiatives in our Commercial and Federal Systems area serving multiple US federal agencies.  
  • This role will be an integral part of the overall System Engineering team and closely partner with both internal and external teams to manage vulnerabilities, scan results, patching/update/upgrade projects. The role requires technical understanding of systems engineering knowledge including operating systems (Linux), configuration management, change management, security scans, vulnerability analysis and remediation.
  • The position requires collaboration with many team across the enterprise to make sure all systems are meeting the company's SLAs for vulnerability and government compliance.
  • The position requires investigating vulnerabilities, formulation of solutions, deploy the solutions or collaborate with other teams that can solve the vulnerabilities.  
 
What you get to do in this role:
  • Drive vulnerabilities findings to resolution by collaborating with other teams
  • Ensure all vulnerabilities are fixed within their SLA
  • Analyze the vulnerabilities and drive proper risk ratings based on mitigating controls in the environment and identify false positives
  • Identify and drive process and tooling improvements
  • Partner with external teams, such as compliance and security team, to maintain high standards of security to satisfy federal mandates. 
  • Create / Update / Enhance documentation and knowledge articles. 
  • Create adhoc queries and reports to aid in remediation efforts
  • Fix vulnerabilities as required, preferably by using automation or configuration mgmt tooling
 
The following is a list of technical requirements for this role:
  • 4 years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with large system designs and operations
  • Hands-on experience with Linux
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering concepts and components, such as DNS, Mail, Networking, System OS and hardware. 
  • Experience with security scanners, vulnerabilities and vulnerabilities resolution
  • Hands-on experience programming and developing in Python or Java.
  • Experience in cloud environments, such as AWS , Azure or Google Cloud

  • Able to collaborate with multiple teams to drive their vulnerabilities to a resolution
