The Work

The Senior Application Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting software applications in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead or collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Development, administration & configuration of a custom-built .NET development project.
  • Provide oversight and guidance of the customer-agency's replacement software and make

performance improvements.
  • Perform code reviews and testing on new code.
  • Participation in all necessary team meetings and design sessions in accordance with Scrum
  • ceremonies.
  • Cooperation with LDWF's Technical Architect and other OTS technical teams to ensure

compliance with OTS standards of State applications.
  • Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, mentorship, and guidance to
  • State personnel for all requested work.
  • Performs all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.


Qualifications

Here's What You Need
  • Five (5) plus years of expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas:
    • C#
    • ASP.NET Core
    • MSSQL
  • Five (5) plus years of enterprise-level software development.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Has led a team of developers under Microsoft development stack.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Vue, React, NodeJS, Angular, Typescript.
  • Experience designing and developing distributed systems (Microservices/SOA).
  • Experience developing reports with SSRS or similar tools.
  • Experience setting up, maintaining and using DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines

and automating tasks.
  • Experience with the Git Version Control System, including branching strategies for complex

systems.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Working Conditions
  • Professional remote office environment.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
