Title: Sr. Snowflake Data Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, FL ( 3 days onsite)
The Senior Snowflake Data Engineer will play a critical role in modernizing enterprise analytics by designing, optimizing, and operating scalable Snowflake-based data solutions. This role will support phased migration from legacy analytics platforms while ensuring performance, governance, and cost efficiency within regulated healthcare data environments.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize Snowflake data models, schemas, and complex SQL transformations to support enterprise analytics and reporting.
Implement robust ELT frameworks leveraging Snowflake-native capabilities such as virtual warehouses, clustering, micro-partition pruning, time travel, and zero-copy cloning.
Lead and support phased migration initiatives from legacy analytics platforms including Ab Initio, Hadoop/Spark, SAS, and relational databases to Snowflake.
Perform performance tuning and cost optimization through effective warehouse sizing, query optimization, workload isolation, and monitoring.
Integrate Snowflake with upstream and downstream systems, including Spark pipelines, Python-based data processing, and BI/analytics tools.
Collaborate with data architects, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and deliver incremental modernization outcomes.
Provide production support, incident resolution, and defect remediation in a managed-capacity delivery model.
Contribute to migration documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term platform sustainability.
Educational Qualifications:
Engineering Degree BE/ME/BTech/MTech/BSc/MSc.
Technical certification in multiple technologies is desirable.
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory skills:
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, SQL development, and performance tuning.
Expertise in data modeling techniques (dimensional and analytical) and modern ELT patterns.
Proven experience migrating data and analytics workloads from legacy ETL and analytics platforms to Snowflake.
Advanced SQL optimization and troubleshooting skills.
Experience working in governed and regulated data environments (healthcare preferred).
Exposure to Python, Spark, or cloud-based analytics ecosystems.
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting large-scale analytics modernization initiatives, preferably in healthcare.
Exposure to R and/or Python-based analytics workloads integrated with Snowflake.
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
