Cable Technician (Entry Level) This is a full-time, in-person field rolePosition SummaryWe are seeking an Entry-Level Cable Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, customer interaction, and assisting other installers with various construction and technical tasks related to cable and fiber optic systems.
Essential Functions- Install and configure cable systems including internet, TV, and phone services.
- Place aerial and underground cable to connect customer premises.
- Install enclosures such as pedestals, handholes, vaults, and other infrastructure components.
- Mark and label facilities to identify and trace wiring.
- Assist with or perform fiber optic splicing, testing, and repairs.
- Perform general construction labor, including transporting equipment and installing cables using trenching, plowing, or boring techniques.
- Conduct signal testing and troubleshooting to ensure service meets quality standards.
- Restore landscape or jobsite conditions after installations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they remain organized and operational.
- Complete all required documentation and work records.
- Provide assistance to Drop Installer II & III team members as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines, protocols, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NESC).
- Deliver excellent customer service, including answering questions and explaining equipment usage.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Competencies- Technical Aptitude: Understanding of telecom systems, fiber optics, copper facilities, and tools such as splicers, strippers, and trenching equipment.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to follow OSHA guidelines; comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- Physical Stamina & Dexterity: Ability to lift 50-80 lbs; climb ladders; kneel, dig, crawl, and perform manual labor.
- Customer Service: Strong communication, professionalism, and ability to interact with customers effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and determine efficient solutions.
- Organization: Strong task and material management skills.
- Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and consistent in meeting deadlines and expectations.
- Learning Agility: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving field practices.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work on-call, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Kapolei, HI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $47840.00/yr.
