JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will define, implement and support functional test coverage to validate NVMe FW. Other critical activities will be to constantly monitor and analyze test coverage and deploy new tools and capabilities into the daily regression cycles. Other duties will include monitoring quality metrics to ensure trends are demonstrating a constant improvement in product quality.
Requirements
- Test engineer in the NVMe Customer Qualification test
- Will work on NVMe Solid State Drives on execution and debug of OEM drive qualification tests.
- Understand test scripts and debug failures that arise during test execution with the development team.
- Experience in at least 1 front-end storage protocol like NVMe/PCIe, FC, SAS.
- Experience programming/scripting background (Perl, Shell or Python
- Experience with SSD or HDD testing is a plus.
- Must have experience with enterprise storage systems setup, testing and debugging.
- Familiar with one of the protocol analyzers like LeCroy, SerialTek, or Xgig.
- Experience with system or device-level performance analysis.
Role
- This is primarily a test execution role, not a development position. Candidates should not expect a full-time test development role.
- While coding/debugging is not mandatory, having the ability to review test code and understand failures is a good-to-have skill.
- The role focuses more on execution and validation, rather than developing new test scripts.
- For performance testing, the team uses FIO-based tests along with in-house automated tools. These are largely automated, and no new code development is required from the candidate.
- Candidates should have basic knowledge of troubleshooting, such as understanding logs and identifying issues, but deep debugging expertise is not required.
- SSD experience is a key requirement for this role.
