Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Python Programmer / Developer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will help enhance and expand a custom-built, web-based management platform that integrates with multiple systems. This role offers an opportunity to work on modern cloud-based applications, data integrations, and scalable backend services within the AWS ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and Flask.
• Build and support integrations between internal applications and third-party platforms.
• Develop data pipelines and synchronization processes for multiple systems.
• Create and optimize database models, queries, and application performance.
• Work closely with frontend developers to support Angular-based web applications.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong experience building web applications using Flask or similar Python frameworks.
• Experience working with MySQL databases.
• Knowledge of ORM technologies (Peewee ORM experience is a plus).
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and version control systems.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced contract environment.

• Experience with AWS cloud services, including:

• Auto Scaling Groups
• S3
• SNS
• ElastiCache (Redis)
• Step Functions
• Familiarity with AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit).
• Experience supporting Angular-based frontend applications.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application architecture.
• Familiarity with integrations involving Google Workspace, Zoom, and other third-party APIs.
