Hybrid 4 days onsite in Maryland Heights, MO

Our client is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to support a large-scale enterprise environment. The role emphasizes database reliability, incident resolution, and proactive monitoring across on-premises and cloud-hosted Oracle environments. The position focuses on maintaining health, stability, and performance of mission-critical databases while partnering with application, infrastructure, and support teams. Hands-on Oracle GoldenGate experience and strong production support capabilities are essential. The engagement is expected through December 2026 with likely extension, subject to business needs.

Rate: $60.00 to $68.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve the health, availability, and performance of Oracle database environments.
  • Proactively identify and resolve database issues before they impact business operations.
  • Investigate alerts, troubleshoot performance issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Participate in production incident response and bridge calls to support critical issue resolution and on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and DBA leads to ensure database stability.
  • Execute day-to-day operational DBA activities including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Support release activities, change management, and create MOP documentation.
  • Assist with performance tuning, optimization, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Contribute to cloud and modernization initiatives across hybrid environments including OCI, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ensure data recovery, data integrity, capacity planning, and adherence to standards and best practices.

Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong production support and operational database administration background.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Expertise troubleshooting performance, availability, and stability issues in production.
  • Proven incident management experience supporting mission-critical databases.
  • Strong understanding of database monitoring, health checks, and proactive maintenance.
  • Experience with Oracle patching, upgrades, migrations, and high availability.
  • Public cloud experience with OCI, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform and hybrid cloud database support.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
