Hybrid 4 onsite in Maryland Heights, MO

Our client is hiring API Spring Developers to build backend services and integrations that enable AI agents to interact with enterprise systems for a high-priority Agentic AI initiative. The role centers on hands-on Spring and Java development to deliver secure, reliable REST APIs and backend capabilities that support personalized, context-aware customer interactions.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

Design and develop backend services and REST APIs using Spring and Java.
Implement integrations with downstream and enterprise systems to provide customer context for AI agents.
Apply platform standards and patterns for service development and deployment.
Participate in peer reviews and code reviews to ensure code quality.
Collaborate within a development team and contribute to modern CI/CD practices.
Write and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.
Mentor less experienced developers.

Experience Requirements:

Strong, hands-on Spring and Spring Boot development experience.
Strong Java background with object-oriented programming expertise.
Experience building REST APIs and backend integrations.
Experience in an enterprise development environment.
Proficiency with unit testing, Git, and Maven.
Experience with CI/CD and modern development practices.
Nice to have: Agentic AI or Generative AI exposure, microservices, MongoDB, enterprise integrations.
