Summary

Job Title: Vehicle Safety Test Engineer (High Voltage / Crash Testing)

Location: Newark, CA (Primarily Onsite)

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hrs/week (Overtime possible)

Travel: Occasional travel to test sites across the U.S.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Safety Test Engineer to support crash testing and vehicle safety validation activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring vehicles meet internal safety standards as well as regulatory and consumer safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with high-voltage systems, crash testing, and vehicle rebuilding, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support execution of vehicle crash and safety tests in alignment with engineering requirements
  • Set up and operate test equipment for vehicle safety validation
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate test preparation and execution
  • Assist in vehicle teardown and rebuild activities post-testing
  • Handle and work safely with high-voltage systems during test preparation and execution
  • Document test setups, procedures, and results to support engineering analysis
  • Ensure all testing activities meet quality, safety, and compliance standards
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of testing processes

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
  • High-voltage systems
  • Vehicle crash testing and safety validation
  • Vehicle teardown/rebuild activities
  • Apprenticeship or technical certification (preferred)
  • Strong hands-on experience working in automotive or testing environments
  • Ability to work onsite in Newark, CA (mandatory)
  • Willingness to travel to test locations as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
  • Familiarity with vehicle safety regulations and testing standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic testing environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Adherence to project timelines and deadlines
  • Quality and accuracy of test execution and documentation
  • Compliance with safety and operational standards
