We are seeking to hire a Parallel Testing Manager to join our team working on a new multi-year award we have within a State Gov’t client, updating their Medicare/Medicaid systems. This role is 100% remote.
Being a US Cit is required for working on this program.
This position pays a strong salary package with full benefits (including choice of healthcare plans, dental, vision, life insurance, 3 weeks PTO, 11 Paid Federal Holidays, and a matching 401k).
An option for working on an hourly rate is also available for those not needing a full benefits package.
Position Overview
The Parallel Test Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and executing all activities related to parallel testing during system modernization or platform transition projects. This role ensures that new systems—such as upgraded claims, enrollment, or payment platforms—produce results that match legacy system outputs with complete accuracy. The manager oversees cross-functional teams, coordinates test cycles, ensures financial and operational integrity, and serves as a key liaison between business, technical, and quality assurance groups.
Key Responsibilities
Parallel Testing Strategy & Execution
· Develop and manage the end-to-end parallel testing strategy, scope, timelines, and metrics for complex healthcare system implementations.
· Define comparison methodologies to validate that new claims systems generate the exact same results as legacy platforms through detailed side-by-side output analysis.
· Ensure financial accuracy by verifying payment amounts, rate applications, accumulators, provider reimbursements, eligibility impacts, and downstream financial transactions.
· Identify variances between legacy and target systems, document root causes, and oversee remediation efforts.
Domain Expertise
· Apply in-depth knowledge of QNXT, HPA, Medicaid programs, and Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) to ensure test coverage aligns with regulatory and operational requirements.
· Oversee validation of Medicaid-specific functions, including benefit plan configuration, rate cell logic, encounters, TPL, waiver programs, and provider/claim type peculiarities.
Project & Resource Management
· Lead parallel testing teams including testers, analysts, conversion teams, and business SMEs.
· Coordinate closely with development, configuration, conversion, and operational stakeholders to align processes and resolve defects.
· Track test progress, risk indicators, and issue resolution to ensure on-time, high‑quality delivery.
Quality Assurance & Governance
· Establish consistent comparison routines, threshold rules, and validation templates.
· Ensure all testing aligns with CMS guidelines, state Medicaid requirements, and organizational QA standards.
· Report defects, trends, and financial impacts to leadership and executive stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
· Partner with business units to confirm that new system outputs meet operational needs and financial accuracy expectations.
· Facilitate working sessions, defect triage meetings, and variance review sessions.
· Present regular updates, dashboards, variance summaries, and risk mitigation plans.
Qualifications
· 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA, or healthcare systems, with at least 3–5 years in a parallel test leadership role.
· Hands-on experience with QNXT and HPA.
· Strong knowledge of Medicaid, MMIS, and healthcare claim adjudication.
· Proven expertise validating financial accuracy across complex claims or payment systems.
· Experience leading large-scale data conversion or modernization projects.
· Proficiency with SQL for data validation and backend comparison.
· Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
· Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with claims configuration, actuarial rate validation, or financial reconciliation.
· Exposure to automation tools for parallel testing, financial comparison engines, or data diff utilities.
Certifications
ISTQB, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent
