Job Location: Columbia, SC

Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

Pay Range: $60.82hr - $64.82hr

The principal duties of this position are to serve as a Business Analyst for the MMIS Operations team under general supervision of the Medicaid Systems Operations Manager.
The Information Systems/Business Analyst is responsible for supporting MMIS operational activities including reporting and analytics, systems support, testing, and coordination with business users.
The role involves documenting and analyzing agency business processes and recommending improvements.
The candidate will proactively identify risks, issues, and action items and contribute to possible solutions.
The position requires interaction with internal and external organizations including vendors, federal government agencies, providers, and other stakeholders.
The candidate will also perform other project related duties as assigned.

Requirement/Must Have:

Experience supporting MMIS legacy system projects as a Business Analyst or in related duties with an understanding of MMIS capabilities and intricacies.
Experience working with Medicaid claims and provider operations concepts.
Experience working with a Medicaid eligibility and or enrollment information system in an operations capacity.
Proficiency in Office Suite, Jira, Footprints, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a liaison between business programs and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
Develop, retrieve, and distribute reports and datasets to internal and external stakeholders for monitoring, reconciliation, and operational processing.
Perform operational support activities for the legacy MMIS and subsystems and respond to business stakeholder inquiries.
Monitor vendor requests and coordinate between business and technical staff while identifying trending issues and escalating to program management as needed.
Translate business requests and needs into system requirements and technical requests and serve as a subject matter expert for related content, processes, and procedures.
Support, monitor, and coordinate the Data Match process for provider eligibility information requests outside standard verification tools.
Document and perform user acceptance testing for MMIS changes and review QA and UA results while documenting issues and defects for triage and resolution.
Identify and complete appropriate professional development activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Should Have:

Subject matter expertise related to MMIS Operations.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as SAS, Excel, data visualization tools, and statistical analysis software.

Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay moderately complex technical instructions and requests.
Experience working in a cross functional team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with team members, technical teams, key stakeholders, and vendors.
Experience providing status reports and other technical or operational reports in a clear and concise manner.

Qualification And Education:

Bachelor s degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field.
Experience in business or systems analysis and or computer systems development or modification may be considered in lieu of a degree.
